Water Shutoff Interrupts Services at County Offices on Utica’s Elizabeth Street

The loss of water to a block of downtown buildings has resulted the interruption of services at Oneida County Government offices located in the 200 block of Elizabeth Street in downtown Utica, Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. said today.

Picente said that the Oneida County Law Library Building at 235 Elizabeth Street and county offices at 209 Elizabeth Street, including the Departments of Social Services and Workforce Development, are affected. Picente said that most employees have been sent home for the day because of the lack of water in the buildings where they work. He said that although some offices may remain open, he advised any customers of the affected offices to call ahead before coming in for scheduled appointments.
