Oneida County has completed two high-impact actions within the benchmarking scope through NYSERDA's Clean Energy Communities Program:
1.Benchmarking – Municipal Buildings - Oneida County adopted a resolution to measure and share data on building energy use over time. This is important since buildings account for over 60% of the energy used in New York State. Collecting this data will allow Oneida County to identify opportunities to reduce energy costs and increase energy efficiency.
2. Benchmarking – Advanced Reporting – Energy use information for Oneida County-owned buildings was uploaded into Energy Star Portfolio Manager. The report can be found here: Benchmarking
