Adolescent Parenting: This Child and Development Program offers a variety of pre-natal and post-natal services for at risk, pregnant, or parenting adolescents, and extended family members. It also offers Parent Educators, clinical treatment, and individual case management as needed. The goal of the program is to improve the parenting skills of those participants, improving the health of infants and strengthening their families.

Center for Family Life & Recovery

Sexual Abuse Treatment Program: Clinical staffs provide Specialized Sexual Abuse Treatment to youth and family for those not eligible to participate through the Department of Social Services (DSS) or who cannot afford to pay for services.

Juvenile Perpetrators: This program provides individual, group, and family therapy for youth implicated as perpetrators of sexual abuse (or engaged in other types of sexual behavior problems) who are at risk for involvement or re-involvement with the juvenile justice system.

Partners in Prevention: This program offers individual and family therapy from a family system approach to direct vulnerable youth towards completion of the Young Scholars program offered through Proctor High School.

Compeer for Kids: This program offers recruitment and training of volunteers for mentoring friendships with youth (ages 5-18) receiving mental health treatment, have a parent/family member diagnosed with mental health services, and/or are receiving preventative services.

Cornell Cooperation Extension

4-H Outreach: 4-H is an opportunity for boys and girls ages 5-19 to learn and develop life skills that may assist them in becoming responsible adults.  Projects are based on research and knowledge from Cornell University, and other land-grant universities and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  This youth development programming utilizes Intergenerational Master Gardener, 4-H Government Interns and Conservation Education Days to provide young people with role models and meaningful participation in community awareness and problem solving opportunities.

JPC Youth Center:  This program provides the young people of Cornhill with opportunities for enrichment, life skills development, and positive recreation - all in a safe, nurturing environment where they can bond with caring, adult role models.  JPC also works as part of a larger system to keep the young people of Cornhill and neighbors safe.

Integrated Community Alternatives Network (ICAN)

Evelyn's House:  Evelyn's House offers a safe, nurturing home and supportive services for young mothers and their children.  The home and program is available to homeless woman ages 16-21 that are pregnant or parenting.  Evelyn's House offers services focused on empowerment, providing young mothers with the skills and networks they need to live independently.

KEY (Knowledge Empowers You):  KEY is an evidence-based, group intervention designed to help high risk youth recognize their strength, make informed decisions about important life areas and increase self-efficiency.  Program topics include, but are not limited to:  building self-confidence, development of healthy relationships, physical wellness (nutrition and exercise), making informed decisions to support mental and emotional health and overall coping skills.

Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency

Runaway & Homeless Youth Program:  Through the Runaway & Homeless Youth Program, MVCAA aims to increase young people's safety and well-being by helping youth build permanent connections with caring adults.  MVCAA provides a 24 hour crisis hotline and services up to the age of 21.  The program assists youth in leaving the streets and moving to safe and appropriate alternative living arrangements through, either reunification with families (as appropriate) through mediation, counseling, emergency shelter and/or transitional housing.

Neighborhood Center

Outreach and Prevention:  A neighborhood drop in program for at risk youth ages 6-18 that offers educational and recreational opportunities year round.  Children will learn and practice habits that help them to achieve optimal physical and emotional health and limit challenges involving health risk behaviors.

Transitional Life Skills:  Provides assistance to youth ages 16-21 who are living independently due to family conflict.  The program teaches the skills needed to maintain independence and find success in adulthood. The program offers case management, emergency assistance and independent living services for runaway, homeless or at risk of homelessness youth ages 16-21 with a focus on fostering independent living skills, continuing education and/or finding employment.

Project Aim:  Trained adult mentors offer youth opportunities to build their self-confidence, reduce negative social behaviors, increase connectedness to self, home and community, increase employability and provide community services.

Empowered Pathways

Child Custody Advocate Program (CCAP):  CCAP program serves youth caught in a contentious custody battle.  Cases with high level of parental (or caregiver) conflict are referred by the court and an Advocate is appointed.  The Advocate gathers information of the people, resources and environments available to the child through interviews and site visits.  In turn, the Advocate makes a recommendation to the court in a formal report regarding the best interest of the child.

Thea Bowman House

Kids with Promise:  Kids with Promise program strives to serve school age children who are at high risk, but are not eligible for child care or other subsides.  Services include free after school and summer vacation programs.  The program offers tutoring, homework help, creative development, physical activity, free meals and on site counseling through the DOVE program.  This program strives to unlock children's full potential.

Get Yourself Motivated (GYM)-  This program is a Youth Drop-In Center designed to support low income families by providing a safe environment for children between the ages of 5-13 in the Greater Utica Area.  It is a safe haven for children that have little or no supervision when parents are at work and are in need of positive structure and supervision.

Upstate Cerebral Palsy (UCP)

School Break Day Camp:  School Break Day Camp is for children residing in Oneida County.  These camps will provide week long recreational experiences at the Root Farm Facility in Sauquoit, NY that will include equine, agricultural and challenge course activities.  This program benefits participants by increasing their independence, self-confidence and ability to work well within a group setting.

Safe Schools Mohawk Valley

Underground Cafe:  The Underground Cafe Teen Center aspires to transform the experiences and perceptions of teens in Utica by creating venues for leadership, civic engagement and creative expression. This program includes the following:  After School Program, School breaks and summer programming, Leadership and Resiliency Skills and Service learning projects.

Mentoring Through Basketball:  Mentoring Through Basketball program develops skills of at-risk young men and allows them to meet their physical, social, moral and emotional needs.  The game of basketball is used to teach core principals such as team work, self-discipline, commitment, resilience and accountability.

Adolescent Outreach:  This program provides violence education in Oneida County to youth ages 4-17 through school and community presentations.  This program introduces age-appropriate discussions surrounding domestic and dating violence, sexual abuse, bullying and a positive nonviolent understanding of how to form and nurture healthy relationships.

Sheltered Youth Project:  The Sheltered Youth Project is conducted in the Hall House, the agency's Utica area, 16 bed emergency domestic violence shelter, Lucy's House, its six-bed Rome area domestic violence safe dwelling and Safe Horizons, a seven-unit transitional housing program.  This program provides refuge for individuals who are fleeing domestic/sexual violence and allows them to receive support, referrals and safety planning so they can begin to live a violence-free life.
