Overview
Oneida County Senior Nutrition Program offers home-delivered meals, congregate dining, and nutrition counseling. Both Home Delivered Meal and Congregate Meal programs provide delicious, well-balanced meals which provide 1/3 the Recommended Daily Allowances for adults as established by the American Dietetic Association.
Home Delivered Meals
This program targets frail, homebound individuals, age 60 and older, and is available at a suggested donation of $2.75 per meal. Donations are voluntary and confidential, and no one will be denied a meal for their inability to contribute. Hot noon meals are delivered Monday through Friday along with shelf-stable meals for weekends and holidays.
Delivery of meals also serves as a daily monitoring system to check on each person's wellbeing. No meal is left unless contact is made with the participant. In the event that a person is found not to be well, or in an emergency situation the driver will report back to their supervisor who then notifies the Office for Aging for a follow-up and any necessary action.
