Road Closure Notification Pleasant Street, TOWN OF NEW HARTFORD

News Photo

On April 1, 2013, Oneida County Department of Public Works will close Pleasant Street to through traffic due to the replacement of a box culvert over a Branch of Starch Factory Creek. The structure is at the end of its life expectancy and needs to be replaced. The replacement will allow for more efficient water run off making for safer roadway conditions.

Once replaced the structure will provide a wider travel way. This will also lead to a continuing project of rehabilitation and repaving of Pleasant Street from the Herkimer County line to Sherman Drive, later in the year.

It is anticipated that the road will be closed for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. Traffic will be detoured via: Graffenburg Road, Higby Road and Tilden Avenue.

County Legislator Jim D’Onofrio and others have begun to circulate flyers throughout the community informing residents of the detour and where to find further information.

If residents have any further questions please call the Commissioner of Public Works Dennis Davis at 315-793-6213
