Dental Network is a Partnership between Oneida County and New York State Association of Counties.

Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr, joined by Department Heads and the Board of Legislators will announce Oneida County’s partnership with the New York State Association of Counties to provide residents with a new voluntary Dental Network Card Program.

At a cost of 10 cents per day for an individual or a dollar per week for a family, the program will make going to the dentist more affordable and easier for seniors and families throughout the county. By Purchasing a Dental Network Card, cardholders will have access to information they can use to locate dentists who have agreed to charge reduce fees for dental service.

County Executive Picente said “We are pleased to enter into this partnership with NYSAC in order to help families and seniors find more affordable dental care. I ask all residents to take a look at this program. If we as county government can make health slightly more affordable we have to follow all avenues to make that a reality.

Brochures will be available on the 1st floor office building as well as through the Department of Social Services, Personnel Department, Health Department, Office for Aging and Continuing Care as well as through your County Legislators.

The Dental Network is another program born out of the work of the Oneida County Total Health Initiative that was announced in 2014.

Picente said “these are the types of innovative programs we are looking at to improve overall community health in our county. This is another step that will make our community healthier.”

The Oneida County Total Health Initiative was announced in 2014 and includes new initiatives and programs Oneida County has begun to promote and create a wellness culture in Oneida County.  Programs include county employee wellness and walking program, smoking cessation, hands only CPR classes as well as implementation of the Community Health Improvement Plan that specifically looks at infant nutrition.
