Picente: Oneida County 911 Center Hosts Open House on Saturday, April 14th

Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente, Jr. today announced that as part of the county’s annual observance of National Telecommunicators Week, the Oneida County 911 Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14^th for tours and information during the annual Open House. The Center is located at 120 Base Road in Oriskany.

“Some outstanding works takes place in that building, and I think that people who rely upon this center for their emergency communications might enjoy having a look to see what a sophisticated 911 Center looks like, and meet some of the trained individuals who handle calls and coordinate with our local emergency services providers during times of crisis,” Picente said.

“Public Safety Telecommunicators are one of the most important links in the region’s community security network by serving as the contact points for people facing emergencies at any time of the day or night who require police, fire or emergency medical services,” Picente said. “Whether you are a volunteer firefighter who wants to see what happens when the calls originate, or just an interested citizen who wants to know more about this vital part of the services County Government provides, we encourage you to attend this open house and come away informed.”
