Picente Names New Director of Central Services

Ambrose Takes Over Oneida County’s Information Technology, Mail Room and Print Shop

Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr, announced today that AnneMarie Ambrose has been hired as the new Director of Central Services.

“We have found the perfect fit for this crucial position in AnneMarie Ambrose,” Picente said. “I am excited to see where her dynamic combination of experience and leadership will take our Central Services Department, as it plays such an essential role in the function of Oneida County Government.”

Ambrose has spent 26 years supporting technology and the past 13 in higher education. Just prior to being hired by Oneida County, she served as Executive Director of Information Services at Herkimer County Community College, and during her 12 years at that institution, also worked as Director of Information Services and a Senior Programmer/Analyst.

She was also a Programmer/Analyst for six years at SUNY Polytechnic Institute and a Computer Support Specialist and Programmer at the Bank of New York Mellon for 13 years.

As Director of Central Services, Ambrose oversees the county’s information technology, mail room and print shop.

“I am looking forward to working with the dedicated group of individuals that currently comprise the Central Services Department as we research technologies that will continue to enrich the computing of our county community,” Ambrose said. “I am also eager to get to know all of our stakeholders, and to learn how the current complex IT environment has positively impacted their daily work.”

Ambrose has a B.S. in Business Administration from Le Moyne College and is currently working on her M.B.A. She was born and raised in Rome and currently lives in Utica with her husband and three children.
