In conjunction with New York State 2013 Flood Recovery Assistance Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. encourages all residents affected by flooding to go to the Oneida County Flood Recovery Center located at the New Hartford Fire Department 4 Oxford Rd. in New Hartford and begin the application process to receive assistance.

Anthony J. Picente Jr. said “It has been only two days since Governor Cuomo was in Herkimer announcing that the State would step up where the federal government had failed to do so. I want to congratulate the Governor for reacting so quickly to our situation and being with the residents in Oneida County and our region during this natural disaster.”

Present at Oneida County Flood Recovery Center will be representatives from New York State to assist residents in filling out the pre-application form and the application form for flood recovery assistance. Also, Oneida County will have a presence at the center as well with representatives from the Department of Social Services and the Office For The Aging to work with residents on any needs they may have.

The County Executive went on to say “Now, starting Sunday, there will be boots on the ground and the County will be a partner in this effort. We look forward to working together with the all of the state agencies represented at the Center. Oneida will have a presence as well. I have instructed Lucille Soldato and Michael Romano from the Department of Social Services and the Office For The Aging, respectively, to dedicate staff members to this center for as long as it takes to continue to assist the residents of this county with any help we can offer in their time of need”
