Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente today reminded eligible residents across the Oneida County region of the Wednesday, March 28th deadline for the county’s upcoming Public Safety Telecommunicator  (911 dispatch) Civil Service Examination.

“With the extensive responsibilities that our 911 Center handles, we are looking for the most qualified individuals in our county to create a strong and deep pool of potential employees,” Picente said. “This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to play a key role in our regional public safety operation, and who want to be on the front lines of helping our county residents in time of need.”  As with all Civil Service examinations in Oneida County, a detailed job description is posted on line at the county’s web site, www.ocgov.net.  The Public Safety Telecommunicator examination announcement can be accessed at www.ocgov.net

“The list that will be generated from this upcoming examination will be used to fill openings for the foreseeable future, so I strongly encourage anyone who has an interest in this career and in Emergency Services to consider taking this examination,” Picente said. “Oneida County is a very diverse county, and we hope that the pool of applicants who will take the Civil Service Exam for this position reflects the diversity of our county.”
