Picente Announces Free Youth Basketball Clinic at Utica College

Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. announced today that the Oneida County Youth Bureau and the Utica College Men’s Basketball Program have partnered for a free basketball clinic will take place on Dec. 9.

The clinic is for co-ed youth ages 8-17 and will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Clark Athletic Center at Utica College.

It will be instructed by Utica College Men’s basketball Coach Sean Coffey, Assistant Coach Dave Wadas and members of the men’s basketball team who will help youth improve their skills and develop their talent by teaching basic practice drills and emphasizing fundamentals.

The players will also sign autographs for participants afterward.

“Utica College continues to be a tremendous supporter of our local youth student athletes,” Picente said. “This clinic will give boys and girls the opportunity to learn some of the concepts of Utica College basketball, as well as develop a connection to one of our local college campuses.”

Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. Participants must have a signed registration/waiver form from a parent or guardian to participate. The form is available at http://www.ocgov.net/youth/basketballclinicregistration.
