For Mackenzi VanSlyke of Lee Center, her internship at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) has provided her more than just something to do this summer, it’s provided her with real world experience she will use in her future career. VanSlyke, who graduated from MVCC this spring, finds that the internship has helped reinforce what she learned in school, as well as providing her with new experiences. “It’s a lot of physical working. I get to learn the processes behind everything. Here it’s all teamwork,” she said. VanSlyke, who also enjoys hiking and adventuring in the Adirondacks, believes this internship will help her in her future endeavors. “It’s a great place to work and I love the area, it’s provided me with very valuable workplace experience that will help me when I get a permanent job,” said VanSlyke.
