A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Stittville. The raccoon was sent to the New York State Department of Health Wadsworth Center for testing on June 23, 2022, and positive results were reported on June 24, 2022

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recently approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine booster dose for individuals aged 5-11 years. This approval comes with recommendations that children this age receive the booster dose at least five months after the primary series, under the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization.
