Focus Of The Region Should Be On Winning Competition

County Executive Anthony J. Picente released the following statement on the proposed Upstate Revitalization Fund:

“The process and procedure of The Upstate Revitalization Fund has been debated since the Governor announced the proposal in his address on January 21^st. I have heard elected officials and media outlets talk about how the money could be spent or should be spent and how it should be divvied up. My focus since January 21^st has been winning the competition and changing the face of this region forever. We shouldn’t shy away from competition. We should embrace it. As a region we have a strategic plan focused on a High tech Economy, Downtown Revitalization and tourism that is unmatched by any region in the State. Now is the time to come together and win this competition. Let others argue about the rules of the game, our job as a region is to play and win.”
