Picente Announces Kevin Green as the New Youth Bureau Director

Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente has appointed Kevin Green to fill the recently vacated position of Director of the Oneida County Youth Bureau.  Former Director Robert Roth retired in April of 2015 and had held the position since 2008.

Kevin Green comes to the position from Notre Dame High School where he was a Physical Education teacher as well as the Physical Education Department Chair and previously was that school’s head varsity baseball coach.  Since 2015 in addition to his duties at Notre Dame he serves as head coach of New Hartford Varsity Baseball.

Green has a Bachelor Degree from Ohio Dominican University and a Master Degree in Elementary Education from Dowling College.  Before returning to his alma mater in 2012 Kevin had a fascinating career that included stints as a Division II baseball Coach, minor league baseball player and a hitting instructor with the Chicago Cubs.  Kevin also served in director roles including time as the Director of Baseball Operations of the All American Baseball Center North Campus in Pennsylvania and the General Manager of the Diamond Training Center in Pennsylvania.

County Executive Picente said “Kevin brings a unique set of experiences to this position.  From his time on the baseball diamond to his time working with youth in various capacities including as a coach, administrator and teacher. We are lucky to add him to our team and look forward to his leadership within the Youth Bureau.”

Kevin Green added “I thank County Executive Picente for this opportunity and I’m excited to begin working.  The Youth Bureau has the important task of engaging Oneida County’s Youth in a substantial way to instill the characteristics of hard work, volunteerism and community involvement.  I’m ready to continue the programs in place and look for new avenues to provide opportunities for young people throughout the County. 

The Oneida County Youth Bureau created in 1977 by the County Board of Legislators, has, for 37 years, carried out its mission of planning, advocating for and coordinating services for children and youth under the age of 21.  The Youth Bureau administers state funds for recreation and youth service programs and monitors and evaluates said programs.
