Picente and Oneida County Board of Legislators Honor Rome Grizzlies

Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente Jr. and the Oneida County Board of Legislators honored the Rome Grizzlies girls 14-and Under ice hockey team at Wednesday evening’s Board meeting.
County Executive Picente presented a proclamation to the team, which commended them for, “bringing distinction and honor to the city of Rome and all of Oneida County by winning the 2011 USA girls Tier 2 14-and Under tournament.” The proclamation went on to say that the Grizzlies, “represented the Rome community with pride through their outstanding commitment to athletic excellence, a never-say-die attitude that put them at the top, a strong commitment to family and community, and a belief in the power of teamwork and hard work to achieve success.”
The Grizzlies won five games in a row at the 2011 USA Girls Tier 2 14-and Under tournament to win the national championship. The tournament took place in Anaheim, California
