Oneida County COVID-19 Weekend Update for May 3, 2020

  • 13 new positive cases, 463* total. *Upon further investigation, 1 positive case was subtracted from yesterday’s total.
  • No new positive fatalities, 18 total.
  • Out of the 463 positive cases:
    • 19 patients are hospitalized in Oneida County.
    • 2 are admitted outside of Oneida County.
  • 256 active positive cases
  • 189 positive cases have been resolved.
  • 3,527 total tests have been conducted.
  • 200 results pending.
  • 2,864 total negative results.
  • 662 under mandatory quarantine.
  • 795 under precautionary quarantine.
  • 3,865 total have been discharged from mandatory and precautionary quarantine.
  • New Potential Public Exposures
    • On April 21, 2020, an Oneida County resident who has tested positive for COVID-19 was at the Price Chopper located at 1917 Genesee Street in Utica between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
      • Risk to the public is low as the person was wearing a mask. Anyone who was in the store during that time period should monitor themselves for symptoms until May 5 and contact their health care provider if symptoms develop. You do not have to automatically self-quarantine.
    • On April 22, 2020, an Oneida County resident who has tested positive for COVID-19 was at the Price Chopper located at 4535 Commercial Drive in New Hartford between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
      • Risk to the public is low as the person was wearing a mask. Anyone who was in the store during that time period should monitor themselves for symptoms until May 6 and contact their health care provider if symptoms develop. You do not have to automatically self-quarantine.
    • On April 26, 2020, an Oneida County resident who has tested positive for COVID-19 was at the Price Chopper located at 1790 Black River Boulevard in Rome between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
      • Risk to the public is low as the person was wearing a mask. Anyone who was in the store during that time period should monitor themselves for symptoms until May 10 and contact their health care provider if symptoms develop. You do not have to automatically self-quarantine.
  • New York State Essential Worker Testing
    • Diagnostic COVID-19 testing for essential workers is taking place at Griffiss International Airport. For more information, see the attached flyer.
    • PLEASE NOTE: Testing is available by appointment to a wide variety of essential workers such as service and education workers and not limited to only healthcare and first responders. Please see the flyer for the full list.
    • Agency workers such as EMS, fire and law enforcement are encouraged to drive through the testing site in a civilian vehicle for their tests.
