Oneida County 911 Center to Hold Open House
Annually, the second full week in April has been proclaimed as National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week. During this special week, Telecommunicators across the nation are recognized for their dedication and commitment to public safety communications. Public Safety Telecommunicators are the first point of contact and play a critical role to ensure the safety of our residents, visitors, Police and Fire personnel.
This year April 10th – 16th is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. In celebration of this event the Oneida County Department of Emergency Services located at 120 Base Road, Oriskany will be sponsoring an open house on Saturday, April 16th from noon – 4 pm. They will be answering any questions the public may have and explaining the operations of the 9-1-1 center.
“I encourage those who can attend this open house to do so. Visitors will have the opportunity to see first hand the state of the art facility and technology used, and they will also get a glimpse into the crucial role that Telecommunicators play in Public Safety,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente, Jr.
“We are opening our center up to County residents so that they can better understand the tremendous amount of talent, professionalism, and dedication of the staff here. Additionally, they will be able to see the efficiency under which we operate and deliver this vital service,” said Oneida County Director of Emergency Services Kevin Revere.
Also, County Executive Picente will be presenting a proclamation to the Telecommunicators in appreciation of their hard work.
