“Info on Flu, Emergency Preparedness, Cancer Services and More"

County Executive Anthony J. Picente said the Oneida County Health Department will this week join the growing list of vendors and exhibitors at the Public Market held each Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the historic Union Station in Downtown Utica.

“The public response to this weekly event provides a great opportunity to reach out to the community with important health information and acquaint them with the many services and programs the health department provides. There will be educational materials on emergency preparedness, County flu clinics and valuable free health screening services to equip residents to protect their health and safety,” Picente said.

Oneida County began holding the Public Market in June at the vacant Railway Express Agency building at Union Station and has seen the participation of area farmers, produce growers, prepared food purveyors and craft vendors grow each week  since.

In addition to the many vendors, free entertainment is provided each week and those attending are treated to a free cup of coffee between 9:00 am and 10:00 am, courtesy of the Utica Roasting Company.
