Tactical Fireground Simulations
This course provides students the ability to practice initial command functions on a fire emergency scene utilizing real time computer based scenarios. It is not intended to teach command functions, but rather reinforce previously learned theories while giving students the opportunity to practice in the command role. Through a series of computer simulations, students will serve as both company officer and initial incident commander.

Water Supply Operations
Offers firefighters with information and skills in determining water supply requirements for firefighting purposes and water delivery methods. Demonstrations and practice sessions are included.

Apparatus Operator - Pump
Offers knowledge and skills essential to pump operation.  Based on objectives from National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator, Chapter 3, this course includes responsibilities of pump operators, hydraulics and friction loss, pump controls and accessories, fire streams, pumper practices, pumping from draft and pump evolutions, and using the fire pump at the fire hydrant.  Demonstrations and practice sessions are included.

Interior Firefighting Operations (IFO)
SCBA / Interior Firefighting Operations-NYS Firefighter-1 course is a comprehensive program that prepares the BEFO graduate to respond to emergencies as an interior structural firefighter under the direct supervision of a company officer. This course also assists the BEFO graduate in accomplishing the remaining objectives of NFPA 1001 and trains them as an interior structural firefighter in accordance with OSHA regulations 1910.156 Fire Brigade Standard and 1910.134 Respiratory Protection Standard. This course utilizes the IFSTA Essentials of Fire Fighting and Fire Department Operations, 6th Edition to accomplish the objectives of NFPA 1001. The program uses segments of the NYS SCBA Confidence and Firefighter Survival courses to meet the objectives of NFPA 1001 while enhancing the students’ ability to survive a structural firefighting emergency.

Basic Exterior FF Operations (BEFO)
This course prepares new firefighters to operate under direct supervision in the exterior or non-IDLH areas of the fire scene. Students participate in training covering firefighter personal protective equipment (PPE), self-contained breathing apparatus inspection and cylinder changing, fire department communications, building construction and fire behavior, modern fire control research, portable fire extinguishers, rope and knot tying, ground ladders, forcible entry, tactical ventilation theory, water supply, hose and fire streams, loss control, orientation to fire origin and cause determination, fire prevention and life safety initiatives, confined space awareness, overview of first aid and buddy care, and Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations. Graduates should be committed to exterior firefighting operations only. This course will not place the student in IDLH or contaminated atmospheres.
