Health Department Has New Headquarters

            Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr., today announced that the Oneida County Health Department has completed the move of several offices into the Adirondack Bank Building in downtown Utica .

            “The move accomplishes two goals that are important to the public – improved access to county services and better facilities,” Picente said. “Moving to the Adirondack Bank Building brings together a number of Health Department offices that were scattered across parts of four floors at the Oneida County Office Building , making it more convenient for the public. Also, moving the Health Department allows us to create space in the County Office Building that will be used by various departments as we complete needed building renovations at the County Office Building .”

            The Adirondack Bank Building , located at 185 Genesee Street , now houses the department’s administrative offices, Environmental Health Division, the Community Wellness program, Special Children Services and Early Intervention services. 

     “Our new quarters will provide easier access for the public and allow for greater continuity of operations within the Health Department,” said Director of Health Nicholas A. DeRosa.

      The Oneida County Health Department will continue to provide clinical services at their facilities at 406 Elizabeth Street in Utica and 228 W. Dominic Street . – Bldg. B in Rome .  The Women, Infant, and Children Program, (WIC), will maintain its operations at 1506 Whitesboro Street in Utica .
