Public Defender - Criminal Division
The Public Defender is charged with representing indigent criminal defendants throughout Oneida County and on appeal to the appellate division, fourth department, and the New York State Court of Appeals. His jurisdiction extends to 42 city, town and village courts, Oneida County Court, and the four prisons contained within the County.

Assistant Public Defender (Criminal Division) - 3rd Assistant
The Public Defender will be accepting applications in January, 2012 from candidates for this position that have passed the New York State bar examination and are awaiting admission. Pending approval from the County Executive to fill a vacancy, we anticipate hiring a candidate in March or April. In order to be screened, all candidates must submit proof of bar passage together with all of the required documents listed on the Notice of Vacancy. We will notify you if you have been accepted for an interview.
