Picente: County Holds Civil Service Outreach

Utica Session Will Be 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at King School;
Rome Session Planned for 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Dec. 3rd at MVCC

Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. today announced that County Government will hold two outreach sessions regarding Civil Service employment opportunities with Oneida County Government – one at Utica’s King School on Thursday, November 19th and one at the Plumley Building at MVCC’s Rome Campus on Thursday, December 3rd. Both events will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m.

School Programs Educate Parents on H1N1

Information Intended to Highlight Prevention and Mass Immunization Plans 

A series of informational seminars intended to educate parents of school-aged children on the H1N1 influenza will be conducted in all Oneida County schools beginning with the first to be held on Wednesday, November 4thstarting at 6:30 PM at Westmoreland High School, County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. and health department officials announced today.

County Seasonal Flu Clinics Cancelled Until Additional Vaccine Arrives

The Oneida County Health Department announced today that the demand for seasonal flu vaccine has been much higher than anticipated and that their supply of seasonal flu vaccine was exhausted on October 9th.

Therefore, all seasonal flu immunization clinics to be conducted by the Health Department will be cancelled and re-scheduled at a later date. The Health Department anticipates receiving additional seasonal flu vaccine within the next 3 weeks.
