Picente Issues Proclamation in Support of Family Battling Child’s Cancer

Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. today announced that he has issued a proclamation in honor of Angelina Dorasgno and her family as her family’s friends are preparing a benefit to help the family deal with the medical bills from her illness.

“Angelina Dorsagno and her family – including her sisters Bella, Mia and Mya and her brother, Geno – and the close friends who have been there for the family to lean upon are united by love and faith in their fight against the challenge of neuroblastoma, a rare type of cancer that strikes children under 5 and that Angelina is battling with courage,” Picente’s proclamation states.

The benefit, being held at 12 North on Saturday May 22nd and Sunday May 23rd, is a softball tournament to benefit the family. Picente noted that, “Angelina Dorsagno and her family are being supported by their friends with a benefit to help the family sustain its efforts to do everything they can for Angelina, a testimony to the tremendous reservoir of goodness that exists in the hearts of people who have devoted countless hours of effort for the sake of Angelina and her family.”

Picente said that the benefit and the reason for it, are a time to consider life’s blessings and challenges. “Angelina Dorsagno’s benefit weekend is a time for all of us to reflect upon the blessings bestowed upon us, whether it be the blessing of health, the blessing of the love of family, or the blessing of friends who turn their caring thoughts into actions,” Picente said.
