P.E.E.R.S., a National Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program

P.E.E.R.S., a National Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program, is scheduled to be in area schools over the next few weeks. The schools will be hosting an Alcohol Awareness event. The event is sponsored by Oneida County Executive, Anthony J. Picente, Jr. and the Department of Traffic Safety.

Along with general information regarding drug and alcohol abuse, P.E.E.R.S. will introduce students to a simulator. That is an actual vehicle that will take the students into a virtual world where they can physically see, feel, and experience the dangers of drinking and driving. You are not just shown the outward dangers of these factors, but you are shown the after effect of drinking and driving.

This simulator will allow students to drive sober and then "intoxicated”. All is based on gender, body type and drinks per hour. Upon the completion of the intoxicated drive, students will be able to view their results on how well or poorly they drove under the influence.

For more information on the simulator, visit the website for P.E.E.R.S. at www.peerawareness.com.

In addition to the Simulator, our professional facilitators will bring a high-impact video presentation. P.E.E.R.S. Goal is to stop Drinking and Driving, Underage Drinking, and Drug use across the Nation-one College or High School at a Time!

We allow scheduling of the A.W.A.R.E. IIISimulator for only a limited amount of Locations (Military, College, and JR/ SR High Schools). If you are interested, call us at (866) 949-7337 to find out more.
