Picente: County Redesigns Web site
Posted: March 23, 2009
Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. today announced that Oneida County has enhanced its Internet presence with a newly redesigned Web site.
“Serving county residents and businesses that work with Oneida County is not just a matter of how we operate our offices, but how we operate in the world of cyberspace,” Picente said. “Oneida County’s Web site is a gateway to public services within and around Oneida County. We are always looking toward promoting greater interaction between the County and its constituencies. The site, located at www.ocgov.net, has an attractive, modern, consistent interface which allows easy navigation for residents and visitors, providing information from various County elected offices and departments as well as links to many area resources.”
Picente said that the technology behind the new site will allow the County to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content, such as public communications, employment opportunities, health alerts, property tax rolls, an event calendar, complete with scheduling information for legislative meetings, public hearings, bid openings, defensive driving courses and health immunization clinics, as well as other events.
County Government will be looking to expand the information and services that it provides via the website in the near future, said Picente, who praised Oneida County’s Office of Central Services for the extensive work required to update the site to make it meet the ever-growing needs of county residents who rely on the Web for interacting with Coutny Government.
Picente urged users of www.ocgov.net to share comments about the new site by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
